How to prepare for a job interview at Thorn Baker Recruitment
✨Know Your Equipment
Before the interview, brush up on your knowledge of telehandlers and other relevant machinery. Be ready to discuss your experience operating these machines, including any specific models you've worked with. This shows you’re not just a candidate with a CPCS card, but someone who truly understands the equipment.
✨Safety First!
Since safety is a big part of the role, be prepared to talk about risk assessments and how you ensure safe operations on site. Think of examples from your past experiences where you identified potential hazards and took action. This will demonstrate your commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
✨Team Player Mindset
The job requires co-operation with various trades and site agents, so highlight your teamwork skills. Share examples of how you’ve successfully collaborated with others on site, especially in situations where you had to jump off the machine to help out. This shows you’re flexible and willing to pitch in wherever needed.
✨Bring Your References
Make sure to have your two commercial references ready to go. It’s a good idea to inform your references beforehand that they might be contacted. This not only shows you’re organised but also gives your potential employer confidence in your work history and reliability.
