A medium sized residential developer seeks a Site Manager (No. 2) for a new build residential project in Brighton. This is a contract position requiring full‑time hours, offering a daily rate of £250 to £260.
Start date: 1st June
Duration: 3-4 months
Job Duties:
- Oversee day-to-day site operations ensuring that the project progresses safely, on time, and within budget.
- Coordinate and supervise subcontractors and site operatives, ensuring adherence to quality standards.
- Manage and review site programmes, identifying potential risks and implementing effective mitigation measures.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations and company policies, maintaining site welfare facilities and safe working practises.
- Monitor material deliveries and stock levels, liaising with suppliers to maintain continuous workflow.
- Maintain accurate site records including daily reports, site diaries, and progress photographs.
- Support the Site Manager in resolving any site issues, including technical challenges and resource allocation.
- Attend site meetings and provide regular progress updates to senior management and stakeholders.
- Promote a positive working environment fostering teamwork and high performance among site staff.
Required Qualifications:
- Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) certification.
- Valid Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) card.
- Current First Aid at Work certification.
- Full, clean driving licence.
Experience:
- Proven experience managing new build residential developments, particularly flats or apartment blocks.
- Demonstrable track record of delivering projects to programme and budget.
- Experience in supervising multi‑disciplinary teams on site.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Comprehensive understanding of construction processes specific to new build residential developments.
- Strong leadership and communication skills ensuring clear direction and team motivation.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications and contract documents.
- Competence in health and safety legislation and best practice standards.
- Proficient in site management software and Microsoft Office applications.
- Problem‑solving aptitude with the ability to make decisions under pressure.
Working Conditions:
