About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a dynamic Commercial team responsible for delivering high-quality residential developments on budget and on schedule. You will play a key role in cost-effective building, overseeing commercial and surveying responsibilities for a designated site.
Responsibilities
- Manage all commercial and surveying aspects on site, ensuring budgets and valuations are effectively controlled and cost targets are met.
- Maintain and update cost control procedures, including monthly cost reconciliation and cash-flow analysis.
- Contribute to early-stage design options to ensure projects remain within budget.
- Prepare tenders, procure sub-contractors and materials, and handle subcontractor recommendations.
- Evaluate and agree on subcontractor variations, managing approvals within budget constraints.
- Attend project and team meetings and present commercial updates.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and internal procedures.
About You
- Relevant construction/quantity surveying qualification (HND level or higher).
- Strong commercial and cost control experience within a housebuilding or construction environment.
- High numeracy and excellent attention to detail.
- Proficient IT skills and familiarity with commercial project systems.
- Clear and effective communication skills with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to work under pressure, demonstrate initiative, and solve commercial issues.
