We’re working with a well-established contractor to appoint an experienced Project Manager for a fast-paced, high-spec fit‑out project in Manchester. This is a full lifecycle role, taking the scheme from pre‑construction through to completion. The successful candidate will be in place by 15th May, with the project kicking off on 26th May and running through to mid/late September.
The Role
You’ll take ownership of the full project delivery, managing programme, coordination, and client engagement while working alongside a strong on‑site team. This is a site‑based position, focused on leadership and delivery rather than hands‑on site work.
You’ll be supported by:
- Site Manager
- 2 x Site Foremen
- Freelance Quantity Surveyor (managing all commercial aspects)
- Senior leadership team
You’ll be responsible for programme management using MS Project, with project documentation and drawings managed via Procore.
The Project Scope
- Full strip‑out and refurbishment
- Gym refurbishment and new shower block
- Fit‑out of 23 bedrooms with en‑suites
- Full HVAC and M&E installation
- Refurbishment and decoration of communal areas
Key Responsibilities
- End‑to‑end project delivery from pre‑construction through to handover
- Programme ownership and high‑level planning input
- Stakeholder management, particularly with client‑side FM and facilities teams
- Coordination of site team and subcontractors
- Ensuring works are delivered on time, within scope, and to a high standard
About You
- Proven experience delivering fit‑out projects in a similar value range
- Strong client‑facing skills – comfortable dealing with demanding stakeholders
- Experience managing projects with significant M&E packages
- Highly organised with strong programme management capability
- Local to Manchester (no accommodation budget available)
Additional Info
- Primarily daytime working, with occasional evening/weekend work for key activities (e.g. crane lifts)
- No major site restrictions anticipated over the summer period
