Thorn Baker Industrial Recruitment are looking for an experienced Stock Control / Procurement Manager for a leading Leicestershire based food manufacturer. This is a permanent position direct with our client.
The Job:
- Managing all raw material and packaging stocks
- Optimise raw material inventory levels
- Ensure all raw materials and packaging meet the required food safety standard
- Support NPD in sourcing new raw materials
- Manage and develop supplier relationships
- Control company spend on raw materials within set targets
Key Tasks:
- Updating and maintaining various records using excel spreadsheets
- Maintain and improve the raw material forecast
- Check stock levels regularly and address inventory discrepancies
- Place orders to replenish stocks
- Compare items received and invoices against items ordered and pricing
- Work with the Production team to ensure materials are available to deliver the production plan
- Work with the Technical team to ensure all raw materials and packaging are purchased from approved suppliers in accordance with relevant food safety legislation
- Evaluate supplier pricing and negotiations
- Liaise with the NPD team in relation to introducing new raw materials and products
- Maintain records of pricing, purchases and other relevant information
- Monthly reporting of performance versus KPIs
- Continuous improvement projects
The hours of work are Monday to Friday 8am-5pm. Salary is between £35-37k depending on experience.
The person:
- Proven experience working as a stock controller, inventory manager or similar role
- Ability to do stock control from a replenishment/procurement perspective
- Experience in stock control using excel spreadsheets
- Pro-active approach
- Strong analytical skills
- Good communication and negotiation skills
- Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications
