Overview

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Logistics Coordinator to join our dynamic team. This role will contribute to the efficient flow of goods in a manufacturing and production environment, ensuring that all processes are streamlined to meet customer needs. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders. Responsibilities

  • Coordinate day-to-day logistics operations to support the manufacturing process, helping the timely and accurate delivery of goods.
  • Prepare and manage export documentation to meet international shipping requirements and compliance regulations.
  • Communicate directly with customers to provide updates, resolve issues, and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Manage purchase orders, ensuring details are accurate, timelines are maintained, and vendor communication is clear.
  • Lead or participate in daily team meetings to align on progress, priorities, and outstanding tasks.
  • Create and manage order documentation, including invoices and shipping labels, to ensure orders are fulfilled accurately and efficiently.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business needs, optimizing the logistics process.
  • Analyse logistics performance data to identify areas of improvement and implement process improvements.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, best practices, and changes in export laws or regulations.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Logistics Coordinator or in a similar role, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of export documentation and international shipping protocols.
  • Excellent communication skills, with a focus on customer service and building positive client relationships.
  • Proficiency in managing purchase orders, invoicing, and creation of order documentation.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in processing and documentation.
  • Ability to function effectively in high-pressure situations and meet tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency in logistics or inventory software systems is a plus.
  • A commitment to fostering a diverse, equitable, and inclusive environment in the workplace.

Day-to-Day

  • Start the day by reviewing pending orders, purchase orders, and export requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal teams in daily meetings to discuss outstanding logistics tasks or challenges.
  • Communicate with customers to provide updates or address any transportation or delivery-related inquiries.
  • Process invoices accurately and ensure all required shipping documentation is completed for international orders.
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate replenishment strategies with the manufacturing teams.
  • Analyse performance data and prepare reports on logistics efficiency and accuracy for continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Address any disruptions or last-minute changes in delivery schedules, working to solve challenges quickly and efficiently.
  • Maintain compliance with shipping regulations, while ensuring accuracy in all documentation.

The shift times are 08:30-17:00 Monday to Thursday with 14:00 finish on Friday.

The basic pay rate is Β£16.51/h.

Please note that this is an initial 3 months` temporary assignment, with a scope for a permanent contract for the right candidate.
