Thorn Baker Industrial Recruitment are delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a prestigious global client for a Credit Controller to join their Finance team based in London. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Credit Controller looking to join a well‑established international business where relationship management, financial accuracy, and proactive debt recovery are at the heart of the role.

The Role

  • Managing customer accounts and building strong relationships to maximise cash collection whilst minimising risk
  • Investigating and resolving credit risks, account queries, and problem accounts
  • Monitoring customer credit limits and ensuring adherence to company credit policies
  • Producing reports on aged debt, overdue debt, cash flow, and other key financial metrics
  • Negotiating payment plans where required and working closely with sales teams to support account management
  • Preparing journals, analysing variances, and supporting management accounting activities
  • Producing invoices and credit documentation accurately and efficiently
  • Issuing customer statements and chasing outstanding payments
  • Supporting master data management and maintaining accurate account records
  • Assisting with payment reconciliations and finance administration activities

What We're Looking For

  • Previous experience within Credit Control, Accounts Receivable, or a similar finance role
  • Strong communication and relationship‑building skills
  • Experience investigating and resolving account issues and credit risks
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Ability to work effectively with both internal departments and external customers
  • Confident using finance systems and Microsoft Office packages
  • Fluent written and spoken English (additional languages would be advantageous)
