Thorn Baker Industrial Recruitment are recruiting for an Industrial Recycling Cleaner / Welfare Operative to work within a busy heavy industrial recycling facility in Darley Dale. This is not an office or commercial cleaning role. You will be working in a hot, dusty and physically demanding industrial environment, maintaining welfare facilities, washing workwear and cleaning site PPE including respirator masks. This is a temporary to permanent opportunity offering £19.74 per hour, weekly pay and long-term career prospects.
The Role
- Washing and laundering workwear
- Cleaning site respirator masks
- Cleaning canteens and welfare areas
- Cleaning toilets, showers and changing rooms
- Emptying bins and disposing of waste
- Maintaining clean, hygienic and safe welfare facilities
- Following site Health & Safety procedures
Hours
Continental 4 on / 4 off shift pattern: 2 x Days: 06:00-18:00, 2 x Nights: 18:00-06:00, 4 days off
Working Environment
This is a heavy industrial recycling environment which can be hot, dusty and physically demanding. Full PPE must be worn throughout your shift, including:
- Respirator mask
- Hard hat
- Overalls
- Gloves
- Ear protection
- Safety glasses
A blood test will be completed on your first day as part of the occupational health process, followed by regular monitoring.
We're Looking For
We're looking for candidates with experience in a hands-on industrial environment. Previous experience in industrial cleaning, recycling, waste, manufacturing, factory, production, hygiene or similar heavy industrial work would be advantageous. This role would suit someone who:
- Is reliable and hardworking
- Is comfortable working in a hot, dusty industrial environment
- Is physically fit and happy with hands-on cleaning duties
- Is comfortable working around machinery and wearing full PPE
- Can follow Health & Safety procedures
- Takes pride in maintaining high standards of cleanliness
A full UK driving licence and own transport are required due to the location.
