Thorn Baker Industrial Recruitment are recruiting Refuse Loaders and Waste Operatives for ongoing work with a local authority in Eckington. This is a physically demanding outdoor role suited to candidates who enjoy hands-on work, staying active, and working as part of a team delivering essential public services.
The Role
- Collecting household waste and recycling bins along set routes
- Loading refuse and recycling into collection vehicles
- Working as part of a refuse collection crew
- Supporting street cleansing and environmental services when required
- Manual handling and heavy lifting throughout the shift
- Walking long distances daily in all weather conditions
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience in labouring, warehouse, waste, recycling, or outdoor work preferred
- Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling
- Reliable with a strong work ethic
- Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Safety boots and high-vis required
- Full UK Driving Licence preferred, as you may occasionally be required to work from another depot in Chesterfield
Hours & Pay
- Monday to Friday
- 6:30am – 3:00pm
- £12.71 per hour, increasing to £13.05 after 13 weeks’ service
- Weekly pay
- Ongoing, full-time work
