Thorn Baker Industrial Recruitment are delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a prestigious global client for a Credit Controller to join their Finance team based in London. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Credit Controller looking to join a well‑established international business where relationship management, financial accuracy, and proactive debt recovery are at the heart of the role.
The Role
- Managing customer accounts and building strong relationships to maximise cash collection whilst minimising risk
- Investigating and resolving credit risks, account queries, and problem accounts
- Monitoring customer credit limits and ensuring adherence to company credit policies
- Producing reports on aged debt, overdue debt, cash flow, and other key financial metrics
- Negotiating payment plans where required and working closely with sales teams to support account management
- Preparing journals, analysing variances, and supporting management accounting activities
- Producing invoices and credit documentation accurately and efficiently
- Issuing customer statements and chasing outstanding payments
- Supporting master data management and maintaining accurate account records
- Assisting with payment reconciliations and finance administration activities
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience within Credit Control, Accounts Receivable, or a similar finance role
- Strong communication and relationship‑building skills
- Experience investigating and resolving account issues and credit risks
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Ability to work effectively with both internal departments and external customers
- Confident using finance systems and Microsoft Office packages
- Fluent written and spoken English (additional languages would be advantageous)
