Overview
We are seeking dedicated and motivated individuals to join our production team as Food Production Operatives at our food manufacturing facility.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and has experience working in food production.
The role involves working in a chilled environment to ensure the efficient preparation and handling of fresh produce.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, handle, and process food products according to food safety and quality guidelines.
- Conduct manual handling tasks, including lifting, moving, and sorting fresh produce.
- Operate cutting tools or machinery.
- Work in a chilled environment, maintaining the freshness and safety of all food products.
- Follow established health and safety regulations and adhere to hygiene protocols.
- Collaborate with team members to meet production targets and deadlines.
- Perform routine quality checks on products to ensure they meet company standards.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and colleagues to ensure smooth workflow.
- Required skills & experience
- Experience in a food production environment or similar role.
- Ability to work effectively in a chilled environment.
- Comfortable with standing for long periods, performing repetitive tasks, and manual handling.
- A strong focus on quality and attention to detail.
- Basic understanding of health and safety regulations in food production.
- Day-to-Day duties
- Start your shift in the evening, ensuring you are prepared to work in a chilled environment.
- Begin production line tasks.
- Use manual handling techniques to transport and position products as required.
- Maintain a clean and hygienic workspace throughout the shift.
- Regularly check the quality of produce and report any discrepancies to your supervisor.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure production targets and deadlines are met.
- End your shift with a recap of the day’s achievements and prepare the workspace for the next team.
- Basic working hours (5 days / week)
The starting pay rate is £13.46/h.
