Thorn Baker Industrial Recruitment are looking for Class 2 Refuse Drivers for immediate starts in Ilkeston to work for a well-known waste-collection client in the local area.

About the client

This client has over 50,000 households that they provide a number of services to which includes collecting household waste, recycling and garden waste. Whilst being classed as a key worker you will be interacting as part of the local authority team to ensure the residents get the services that they not only pay for but also to the high standard that they expect.

Highlights

  • £14.59 per hour (overtime paid at premium rate)
  • Working task until finish (paid for a full day but finish when the work is done)
  • Stable day shifts 06.00-14.00 approximately (work until task finish)
  • Temporary ongoing work that is not just seasonal that could become permanent for the right candidate

Job Role

Driving around the local area to collect household waste, household recycling and garden waste. Although the role is predominantly driving, if short-staffed, the Driver will be required to get out of the cab to help loaders load the vehicle with collection material. Monday to Friday (Bank holidays and overtime paid at a premium rate). You will also be required to help the team load the vehicle.

What we need from you

  • Applicants must have a Category C licence, CPC and a digital tachograph card
  • Previous experience in driving a refuse wagon is desirable however not essential
  • Available for an induction this week and next
  • Available to start as soon as possible
