Job Overview: Thorn Baker Industrial Recruitment are hiring on behalf of a national concrete manufacturer based in Alfreton. We’re looking for an experienced FLT Driver to support production and yard operations in a busy, high-output environment. This is a full-time, long-term opportunity with the potential to go permanent for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate Counterbalance FLT to safely move raw materials, concrete products, and steel components around the yard and production areas
- Load and unload vehicles in line with company safety procedures
- Supply production lines with materials and remove finished products for storage or dispatch
- Carry out visual checks to ensure products are handled carefully and stored correctly
- Support general yard duties when required, including manual handling and housekeeping tasks
- Follow all site Health & Safety procedures to maintain a safe working environment
Preferred Experience & Skills:
- Valid in-date FLT Counterbalance licence (accredited only)
- Previous experience in an industrial, yard, or manufacturing environment
- Comfortable with both FLT operation and manual handling tasks
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Overhead crane experience or willingness to train would be an advantage (not essential)
Shift Details:
- Days: Monday to Friday
- Monday – Tuesday: 06:00 – 16:30
- Wednesday – Thursday: 06:00 – 16:00
- Friday: 06:00 – 15:30
- Total Weekly Hours: 48
Pay Rates:
- Hourly Rate: £12.24 + 90p hourly bonus = £13.14 per hour
- Overtime Rates: £17.14 – £22.03 per hour (as applicable)
