Overview
Thorn Baker has teamed up with a family‑run company that has earned a reputation over the past 25 years for creating the highest quality bespoke and traditional constructions in and around the Cotswolds.
The company is now looking for a Quantity Surveyor/Contracts Manager to join its team.
The role combines QS duties with contracts management, working closely with local tradesmen to handle planning permissions, building regulations approval and innovative design advice.
- Your Responsibilities
- Largely QS duties with some contracts management
- Ensure weekly and monthly payments are processed efficiently, disputed items are resolved, allowing site works to proceed unhindered and providing an accurate picture of site financial status.
- Produce site valuations and present to the Board of Directors
- Liaise with other departments on time to ensure sites run efficiently.
- Comply with responsibilities as defined in the Group's Health, Safety & Environment Policy and ensure compliance with the same throughout the team to promote safety.
- Mentor and train junior team members, developing their skills to a sufficient level where they can take on more responsibility.
- Aid the Manager when making key business decisions and attend regular regional meetings as the relevant subject expert.

- Required Skills
- Minimum of HND/HNC in Quantity Surveying / Construction Management
- At least 3 years' relevant experience within the last 8 years.
- Fully conversant with Microsoft Word and Excel
- Experience with using COINS is desired
- Full UK driving licence
