About Us

Thornbaker are recruiting for a leading retail fit-out contractor delivering high-quality refurbishment and new-build projects for major retail brands across the UK. Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced and driven Contracts Manager to join our team and oversee multiple fast-paced retail fit-out projects.

The Role

As Contracts Manager, you will be responsible for the successful delivery of multiple retail fit-out projects from pre-construction through to completion. Working closely with clients, site teams, subcontractors, and suppliers, you will ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple retail fit-out projects simultaneously.
  • Oversee project programmes, budgets, and resource allocation.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Lead and support Site Managers and project delivery teams.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company procedures.
  • Monitor project performance and implement corrective actions where required.
  • Manage subcontractors and supply chain partners.
  • Attend client meetings, site visits, and progress reviews.
  • Ensure commercial objectives and project profitability are achieved.
  • Support business development and tendering activities when required.

About You

  • Proven experience as a Contracts Manager within retail fit-out, shopfitting, or commercial interiors.
  • Strong knowledge of construction processes and project delivery.
  • Excellent client-facing and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong commercial awareness and budget management experience.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • SMSTS, CSCS, and First Aid qualifications preferred.
