A growing housing developer is seeking a Site Manager for a brand new project commencing in April 2026. The successful candidate will oversee a 60-unit traditionally built housing development to a high specification. This role offers clear progression opportunities to Senior Site Manager and Contracts Manager within three years.
Job Duties
- Manage and supervise all site activities to ensure timely delivery of the project within budget and to the required quality standards.
- Coordinate and monitor subcontractors, suppliers and site operatives to ensure adherence to project plans and health and safety regulations.
- Maintain compliance with NHBC standards and other relevant quality assurance processes throughout the build.
- Prepare and maintain site records, including daily reports, progress logs and material deliveries.
- Conduct regular site inspections to ensure workmanship meets company and regulatory standards.
- Manage risks and implement effective solutions to minimise delays and disruptions.
- Ensure strict compliance with health and safety policies, conducting toolbox talks and risk assessments as required.
- Liaise with clients, consultants and local authorities to facilitate smooth project progression.
- Lead and motivate the site team, fostering a positive and productive working environment.
- Monitor project costs and resource usage, reporting any variances to senior management promptly.
Required Qualifications
- Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) certification.
- Valid Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) card.
- First Aid qualification.
- Full, clean driving licence.
Experience
- Proven experience managing traditional new build housing developments, preferably within a similar scale (50+ units).
- Demonstrable track record of delivering projects on time, within budget and to a high standard.
- Experience working with NHBC standards and inspection regimes.
Knowledge and Skills
- Comprehensive understanding of traditional construction methods and house building processes.
- Strong leadership and communication skills to effectively manage site teams and subcontractors.
- Excellent organisational and time management abilities.
- Proficient in site documentation and reporting.
- Sound knowledge of health and safety legislation and best practice within the construction industry.
Working Conditions
- Full-time hours, generally Monday to Friday 7:30 - 16:30.
- Work predominantly on-site in all weather conditions, requiring appropriate personal protective equipment.
