Thorn Baker Industrial Recruitment are looking for a Senior Development Designer to work for an established POS/POP manufacturer based in Leicester. The company is a fast-paced organisation, and are looking for someone that has worked in a similar type of role. They specialise in the supply of POS/POP within the temporary and permanent display industry. Ideally, you must have some knowledge of the sector. This is a full time office-based role.

Responsibilities
- Producing development solutions that support client design concepts and technical intent.
- Developing cost-effective and efficient solutions for in-house and outsourced manufacture.
- Conducting site surveys as required to support project delivery.
- Providing technical guidance and support to the development team where needed.
- Identifying risks and reporting them in a timely manner to enable appropriate business decisions.
- Maintaining a professional, honest, and respectful approach at all times, internally and externally.
- Supporting initiatives to reduce costs, improve productivity, and increase efficiency across development activities.
- Adhering to and supporting the implementation of company procedures and policies.
- Communicating issues, risks, or obstacles to the Operations Director to ensure effective resolution.
- Supporting the training and development of junior team members through coaching and knowledge sharing.
- Identifying opportunities for process improvement and contributing to workflow optimisation.
- Collaborating with Planning, Workshop, Prototype, and Pre-Production teams to align development activity with demand, budgets, and production capability.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Excellent time management and the ability to prioritise effectively.
- Strong reporting and documentation skills.
- Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
- Confidence in building and maintaining effective internal and client relationships.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- A proactive, target-driven approach with the ability to work independently and efficiently.
- A methodical and organised working style with accurate record keeping.
- Good numeracy skills.
- A sound working knowledge of SolidWorks.
- Is experienced with Metalwork, joinery and plastics.
