Thorn Baker Industrial Recruitment are looking for fire watchers to work for a Recycling company based in Leicester.

The jobs will be to watch and monitor the site when closed for potential fires and to act if anything happens

The Job

  • Providing cover as part of a rota covering 7 nights per week 5pm-5am

• Duties to include

  • Recognising signs of fire, smouldering material, thermal activity and other abnormal conditions.
  • Understanding the site's Fire Prevention Plan (FPP) and Fire Watch procedures.
  • Knowing which areas, stockpiles and materials require routine surveillance.
  • Understanding inspection frequencies and required patrol routes.
  • Raising alarms and activating escalation procedures.
  • Contacting emergency services where necessary.
  • Understanding the location and limitations of firefighting equipment.
  • Understanding evacuation arrangements and muster points.
  • Recording and reporting Fire Watch inspections, findings and actions.
  • Understanding the specific fire risks associated with waste storage and processing activities
