Thorn Baker Industrial Recruitment are currently working with a successful engineering company in the Nottingham area (NG7) to recruit a number of Laser Cutters. About the client This client has been a market leader in their industry for almost 40 years which has given many people the chances to progress within the business as it expanded. This client has had to adopt their operations through the years which has seen them extend working hours to 24 hours a day (including through covid times as they were helping supply much needed equipment to the NHS!) Highlights – Immediate starts (following successful interview/site tour) – Shift work (Weekly rotations between 06.00-14.00/14.00-22.00 Monday to Friday) – Easily accessible via public transport or free on-site car parking for those traveling via own transport – On the job training provided to upskill candidates (with pay reviews) – Progression opportunities as the company continues to expand Job Duties – To set & operate the laser with least amount of downtime. – To check, read & sign job sheets before cutting to check for special or job specific instructions. – To carry out first off and other production checks in accordance with the quality system& get a supervisor/deputy (if/when available) to double check & then sign off. – To use the forklift in accordance with health & safety regulations. – To plan/schedule work set out by planning schedule or supervisor. – To plan/schedule material with the least amount of machine downtime. – To use part sheets where possible. – To stack & arrange work/jobs in a logical & sensible manner. – To maintain company paperwork & procedures in accordance with quality system. – To help & assist other operators when/where possible. – To run the laser as efficient as possible with the least amount of stops. – To be actively involved in establishing and improving existing processes and procedures.
