Thorn Baker Industrial Recruitment are looking for a HSE Coordinator to work for an established manufacturer based in Leicester. This role's scope includes multiple operational sites, safety and environmental compliance, staff training, audits, incident investigations, and sustainability initiatives. The HSE Coordinator role is focused on health, safety and environmental performance.

About the Role:

  • Working 8:30am - 17:00pm (37.5 hour working week)
  • Β£30,000 per annum starting salary
  • This is a full time permanent vacancy

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development and implementation of EHS policies, procedures and continual improvement programmes.
  • Work closely with Production and Logistics Teams to promote behavioural safety, implement risk improvements and enhance risk management.
  • Develop and deliver EHS training programmes across operational areas.
  • Oversee the site risk assessment programme, ensuring timely creation, review and maintenance of assessments.
  • Conduct internal EHS audits (PPE, machine guarding, site inspections) and produce formal reports with actionable recommendations.
  • Assist with accident and incident investigations across all sites, identifying root causes and supporting the implementation of corrective actions.
  • Attend daily operational meetings to ensure strong communication regarding EHS matters.
  • Maintain and analyse statistics relating to accidents, incidents, audits and training.
  • Provide monthly departmental reports on EHS activities, performance, projects and progress.

Experience and Essential Skills:

  • Experience in a manufacturing, logistics, or industrial environment is advantageous.
  • Experience in roles requiring communication and influencing skills across different levels.
  • NEBOSH General Certificate (or working towards).
  • IEMA Foundation Certificate in Environmental Management.
  • IEMA Associate Certificate in Environmental Management (or working towards).
  • Familiarity with environmental management in manufacturing, logistics, or industrial contexts.
  • Desire to grow in the role.
  • Commitment to obtaining required qualifications.
  • Openness to guidance, training, and development.
