Overview We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Fabricator to join our dynamic team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on bespoke manufacturing projects, creating custom metal products that meet the unique needs of our diverse clients. As a fabricator, you will be responsible for applying your expertise in metal fabrication, MIG welding, and engineering principles to deliver high-quality results. Responsibilities Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and engineering designs to create precision metal components and products. Perform MIG welding (some TIG as well) to fabricate, assemble, and repair metal structures and parts. Collaborate with the engineering team to ensure designs are feasible and meet specifications for bespoke manufacturing projects. Operate and maintain fabrication machinery, tools, and equipment in a safe and efficient manner. Ensure welds and finished products adhere to quality standards and project specifications. Perform finishing tasks such as grinding, polishing, and deburring to achieve a professional look. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to fabrication processes and equipment. Uphold a safe and inclusive work environment by following health and safety protocols and valuing teamwork. Qualifications Proven experience in metal fabrication and MIG welding, preferably in a bespoke or custom manufacturing environment. Strong understanding of engineering concepts and technical drawings. Ability to work with various types of metals, such as steel, aluminium, and stainless steel. Proficient in operating fabrication tools, machinery, and welding equipment. Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills to address production challenges. Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to delivering high-quality work. Good interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively within a team. A commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace. Day-to-day Begin the day with a briefing, reviewing project priorities and deadlines. Read and interpret engineering drawings to plan fabrication tasks. Prepare materials, measure, cut, and shape metal pieces according to specifications. Weld components using MIG welding techniques, ensuring strong and accurate joints. Collaborate with the design and engineering teams to troubleshoot and refine designs or processes. Perform finishing processes to ensure products meet both functional and aesthetic standards. Conduct quality checks on completed items to ensure they meet customer and company standards. Maintain equipment, perform routine checks, and report any maintenance needs. End the day reflecting on progress, updating logs, and preparing for the next day's work. The hours of work are 07:00 – 15:30 Monday to Friday. Starting pay is £13- £15/h depending on skills & experience.
