Job Description:
Thorn Baker Industrial Recruitment are looking for a skilled CNC Operator to join our clients team. If you have experience operating CNC machines, especially waterjet or laser cutting machinery, this is an excellent opportunity to develop your career in a supportive and forward-thinking environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor CNC waterjet cutting machines for accurate production
- Interpret and work from technical drawings and CAD files
- Perform machine setups, adjustments, and basic preventative maintenance
- Use computer controls and CNC programming software to manage production settings
- Inspect finished components to ensure quality standards are met
- Support production goals while maintaining health & safety compliance
Required Skills and Experience
- Experience as a CNC Operator, CNC Setter, or CNC Programmer
- Practical experience with waterjet cutting, laser cutting, or other CNC-controlled equipment
- Ability to read engineering drawings, perform setups, and make machine adjustments
- Basic understanding of CNC programming or G-code editing (desirable)
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail

Pay and Hours
- Hourly Rate: Β£13.18 – Β£13.70 per hour (depending on experience)
- Working Hours: Rotating day shifts, Monday to Friday
- Week 1: 6:00am β 2:30pm Mon-Thurs, 6:00am-10:00am Fri
- Week 2: 9:30am β 6:00pm Mon-Thurs, 10:00am-2:00pm Fri
