Work for the Council! Thorn Baker Industrial Recruitment is seeking an experienced HGV Class 2 Refuse Driver to join our clients team with immediate effect. The role is based in Worksop, and you will be responsible for operating a refuse collection vehicle and actively assisting with waste collection tasks.
While the job primarily involves driving a Class 2 Refuse Lorry, due to the nature of the work, you will spend much of your time as a Refuse Loader, assisting with loading bins and waste materials, covering the driving when required.
Key Responsibilities:- Refuse Collection: Actively participate in the refuse collection process by loading and unloading waste materials. This may involve manual handling and working in all weather conditions.
- Driving: Safely operate a Class 2 refuse lorry to transport waste from collection points to disposal sites in and around the Worksop area.
- Teamwork: Work closely with refuse loaders and other team members to ensure efficient completion of daily routes.
- Health & Safety: Ensure all safety protocols are adhered to while performing both driving and manual loading tasks.
- Customer Service: Maintain a professional and helpful attitude while interacting with residents and businesses.
- A valid Class 2 (C) Driver's Licence with at least 2 years of driving experience.
- CPC and tachograph card are required.
- Ability to perform physical work and assist with refuse loading when necessary.
- A flexible and team-oriented attitude, with a willingness to alternate between driving and loading duties.
- Previous experience in refuse collection or similar manual work is beneficial but not essential.
- Immediate start with a competitive pay rate of £13.50 per hour, including opportunities for rate increases with time served.
- Work as part of a supportive team with full training provided.
