Thorn Baker are currently recruiting for a Deputy Line Leader to join a well-established manufacturing company within the chemical production sector, based in Kirkby in Ashfield. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous production or supervisory experience who is looking to take the next step in their career. In this role, you will support the Line Leader in the day-to-day running of the production line, ensuring targets are met safely, efficiently, and to a high standard of quality. You'll also be required to step up and take full responsibility for the line during periods of absence, such as holidays or sickness.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Line Leader in managing daily production operations
- Oversee production line activities and ensure smooth workflow
- Maintain high standards of safety, quality, and efficiency
- Train and guide production operatives as needed
- Complete all required production and quality paperwork accurately
- Assist in setting up pumps and ensuring all equipment is prepared for production runs
- Manage a small team of three production staff when covering for the Line Leader
- Work closely with other departments to ensure production targets are achieved
About You
- Previous line leading or supervisory experience preferred
- Experience working in a chemical or manufacturing environment desirable
- Confident communicator and team player
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Flexible and willing to work either early or late shifts as required
Shift & Pay Details
- Shift: 6am - 2pm (Monday to Friday). Afternoon shift (2pm - 10pm) will commence from January
- Pay: Β£12.21 per hour
- After 12 weeks: 20% pay uplift
- Overtime - Time & 1/2 after 40 hours
- Β£16ph when you are running the lines
