Press Brake Setter / Operator
Purpose of the Role
To accurately set and operate CNC press brake machines to bend, fold, and form sheet metal components as per drawings and specifications. The role plays a key part in manufacturing high-quality parts for Point of Sale (POS) displays and related products, while ensuring safety and efficiency on the shop floor.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC press brake machines to produce metal components to precise specifications.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, folding diagrams, and work instructions.
- Select and install correct tooling, punches, and dies based on job requirements.
- Perform first-off inspections and conduct in-process quality checks using measuring tools (e.g. callipers, angle gauges, Verniers).
- Make machine adjustments and corrections to ensure product accuracy and consistency.
- Maintain accurate production records, including job tracking and inspection reports.
- Report any machine issues, material shortages, or quality concerns to supervisors.
- Follow all company health and safety policies, using PPE and safe working practices at all times.

Experience
- Essential:
- Proven experience setting and operating a CNC press brake machine.
- Experience in a metal fabrication or manufacturing environment.
- Background in POS, sheet metal displays, signage, or similar industries.
- Experience with press brake brands such as Amada, Trumpf, Bystronic, or LVD.
Skills & Abilities
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and folding programs.
- Competence in using measuring tools to verify dimensions and tolerances.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
- Good problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
- Understanding of material behaviour and bend allowances.
