Job Title: Senior Design Engineer
Location: Watford
Salary: £51,000 – £65,000 + Car Allowance
Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent

A leading construction and engineering firm is seeking a Senior Design Engineer to join their team in Watford. This role offers the opportunity to lead complex civil and structural projects and make a significant impact.

Key Responsibilities of the Senior Design Engineer

• Lead and manage design and engineering phases of major projects, ensuring compliance with standards and regulations.
• Produce, review, and approve engineering drawings, designs, and specifications.
• Collaborate with architects, project managers, and contractors to ensure design alignment throughout the project lifecycle.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and design staff.
• Conduct site visits to monitor design implementation and resolve technical challenges.
• Participate in value engineering, risk assessments, and project planning activities.
• Ensure project milestones, budgets, safety standards, and quality benchmarks are met consistently.

Candidate Profile

• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master\’s preferred).
• Chartered or working towards CEng status.
• Strong design background in civil or structural engineering.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, STAAD Pro, or similar software.
• Solid understanding of codes, standards, and regulations.
• Excellent communication skills and a confident team player.
