Senior Site Manager Location: West Midlands - Dunchurch, Rugby Job Type: Contract, Full-Time Hours Monday - Friday Industry: Construction - New homes  Salary: £30 - £33 Per Hour We are looking for a freelance Senior Site Manager for a new homes development in Rugby. This is an excellent opportunity offering up to £33 per hour, with a potential temp to perm position for the right candidate. Job Description The Senior Site Manager is responsible for the day-to-day on-site management of high volume new build housing developments. This role involves overseeing all aspects of site operations, ensuring projects are delivered safely, to time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. Key Duties and Responsibilities Lead and manage the on-site team, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies. Plan, organise and control all construction activities on site to meet project deadlines and objectives. Coordinate subcontractors and suppliers to ensure smooth progress and quality control throughout the build process. Monitor site progress against programme, identifying and resolving issues that may impact delivery. Maintain accurate records of site activities, including daily reports, labour records, and material usage. Ensure all works meet the required building regulations, standards and specifications. Manage budgets and resource allocation effectively to control costs. Conduct regular site inspections and audits, implementing corrective actions where necessary. Communicate regularly with the project management team, clients and other stakeholders to provide updates and manage expectations. Promote a positive site culture focused on safety, quality and continuous improvement. Required Qualifications Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) certificate. Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) card. Valid First Aid qualification. National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) Level 6 in Construction Site Management or equivalent. Full, valid driving licence. Education and Experience Proven experience as a Senior Site Manager or in a similar senior construction role. Extensive experience managing new build housing projects, particularly within high volume developments. Strong track record of delivering projects on time, within budget and to the required standard of quality. Knowledge and Skills Thorough understanding of construction processes, methods and legislation relevant to new build housing. Excellent leadership and team management skills. Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written. Proficient in site management software and standard office applications. Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities effectively. Working Conditions Primarily based on-site in Rugby, West Midlands, with occasional travel to other locations as required. Full-time hours, with flexibility to accommodate project demands, including occasional extended hours. Work involves exposure to typical construction site environments, including variable weather conditions. Use of personal protective equipment is mandatory at all times on site.
