How to prepare for a job interview at Thorn Baker Construction

Know the Role Inside Out

Before your interview, make sure you understand what a Recruitment Resourcer does, especially in the construction sector. Familiarise yourself with the key responsibilities and think about how your skills align with them. This will help you answer questions confidently and show that you're genuinely interested in the role.

Showcase Your People Skills

Since this role is all about connecting with people, be ready to share examples of how you've successfully communicated or solved problems in the past. Think of specific situations where you’ve had to engage with others, whether it’s resolving a conflict or simply building rapport. This will demonstrate your suitability for a fast-paced, people-focused environment.

Prepare Questions to Ask

Interviews are a two-way street, so come prepared with thoughtful questions about the team, company culture, and the projects you'll be involved in. This not only shows your enthusiasm but also helps you gauge if the company is the right fit for you. Ask about their approach to supporting candidates and how they measure success in the role.

Emphasise Your Problem-Solving Skills

In recruitment, you'll often need to think on your feet. Be ready to discuss times when you've had to solve unexpected challenges or find creative solutions. Highlighting your ability to adapt and think critically will resonate well with the interviewers, especially in a dynamic field like construction recruitment.
