Quantity Surveyor Salary: £75,000 - £80,000 per annum Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time Location: Office and Site-Based The Opportunity We are working with an established construction and refurbishment contractor to recruit an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded Quantity Surveyor to take ownership of the financial and contractual aspects of construction and refurbishment projects, ensuring effective cost control, strong commercial performance and successful project delivery. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing project finances, working closely with operational teams, subcontractors and clients to ensure projects are delivered within budget and to the highest standards. The Role As Quantity Surveyor, your responsibilities will include: Managing the commercial aspects of construction and refurbishment projects from inception through to final account. Preparing and managing project budgets, cost plans and financial forecasts. Monitoring project costs, cash flow and overall commercial performance. Managing subcontractor procurement, negotiations and appointments. Reviewing and assessing subcontractor applications for payment. Preparing and submitting interim valuations and applications for payment. Managing variations, change control and contractual claims. Producing regular cost reports and financial forecasts. Negotiating and agreeing final accounts with clients and subcontractors. Identifying commercial risks and opportunities to maximise profitability. Working closely with project managers, site teams and senior management. Attending site visits and commercial meetings as required. About You The ideal candidate will have: Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry. Experience working on refurbishment and/or building construction projects. Strong commercial awareness and financial management skills. Experience managing subcontractor accounts, valuations and final accounts. A good understanding of construction contracts and commercial procedures. Excellent negotiation, communication and organisational skills. The ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities. A proactive approach to problem-solving and commercial management. A relevant degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying is desirable. What's on Offer? Competitive salary of £75,000 - £80,000 per annum.
