Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Joiner to support a specialist shop fit‑out project in Dumfries. This is a short‑term, two‑week contract with extended hours to ensure swift completion. You’ll work closely with our site team to deliver high‑quality joinery installations in a retail environment.

Key Duties & Responsibilities
Interpret technical drawings and specifications for shop fittings
Measure, cut, and assemble timber and MDF components for counters, shelving, display units, and cabinetry
Install bespoke joinery items flush‑to‑wall, ensuring precise alignment and finish
Execute first‑fix and second‑fix joinery tasks, including door frames, architraves, skirtings, and trim
Fit shop fixtures such as display racks, checkout stations, and wall cladding
Use hand and power tools (saws, routers, planers, nail guns) safely and accurately
Ensure all work meets design tolerances and maintains the aesthetic standards of the retail fit‑out
Coordinate with other trades (electrics, décor, flooring) to sequence works and avoid clashes
Maintain a clean, safe workspace and adhere to site health & safety protocols
Requirements
Proven experience in commercial joinery or shop fit‑out projects
Strong proficiency with both first‑fix and second‑fix joinery
Ability to read and work from detailed shop drawings
Own set of joinery tools and PPE
Excellent attention to detail and finish quality
Reliable, punctual, and able to work extended hours
