Gateman in Huntingdon

Thorn Baker Construction is currently recruiting for a reliable and experienced Gatesman to join a busy construction project in Bury.

This is a great opportunity for someone who is confident, approachable and comfortable working in a busy site environment, with 8 months' work available.

The Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing site access and ensuring the safe movement of vehicles, pedestrians and deliveries around the site.

Typical duties include:

• Managing the site entrance and exit.
• Directing vehicles safely in and out of the site.
• Controlling pedestrian access.
• Managing frequent deliveries to site.
• Communicating professionally with delivery drivers.
• Being confident and approachable when dealing with members of the public.
• Maintaining a safe and tidy site entrance.
• Working closely with site management and other members of the team.
• Following all site health and safety procedures.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Gatesman, Traffic Marshal or similar role is preferred.
• Confident and approachable when dealing with members of the public.
• Professional and willing to engage with delivery drivers.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Comfortable working in a busy environment with frequent deliveries.
• Strong awareness of site health and safety.
• Reliable, punctual and hardworking.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
