We are seeking an experienced Commercial Project Manager to provide commercial support across high-value construction projects. This role is responsible for ensuring strong commercial performance, accurate financial reporting, and effective contract management under NEC forms of contract.
You will play a key role in maintaining the commercial viability of assigned projects, managing cost control, applications, cashflow, and risk management to ensure projects remain financially robust and aligned with contractual requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide end-to-end commercial management across allocated projects
- Monitor project costs, margins, and cashflow to maintain commercial viability
- Prepare and review applications for payment, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Produce and maintain project cashflow forecasts and financial reports
- Review NEC contract documentation to identify risk and opportunity
- Manage variations, change control, and compensation events
- Support timely resolution of final accounts with clients and subcontractors
- Monitor project performance and highlight risks with corrective actions
- Support commercial review processes and accurate system reporting (e.g. IFS)
- Assist with subcontractor engagement, valuation, and negotiations
- Ensure timely collection of cash and resolution of commercial queries
- Maintain effective commercial administration and record keeping
About You
- Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or similar
- Strong NEC contract experience (essential)
- Minimum 5 years' commercial experience within construction
- Proven experience on large-scale construction projects
- Strong knowledge of commercial reporting, cost management, and contract administration
- Understanding of construction contract law (desirable)
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
