About Us
We are a leading drylining and interior fit-out contractor delivering high-quality projects across the commercial, residential, healthcare, education, and mixed-use sectors throughout the UK. Due to a growing workload and a strong pipeline of secured projects, we are looking to appoint an experienced Freelance Quantity Surveyor / Estimator to support our commercial and pre-construction teams on an ongoing basis. This role offers the opportunity to work across a diverse range of projects, providing support from tender stage through to final account.
Location: Bromsgrove, Worcestershire

Duration: Ongoing Freelance Contract
Rate: Competitive Day Rate (DOE)
The Role
Based from our Bromsgrove office, with flexibility for some remote working, you will be responsible for both estimating and quantity surveying duties, helping to ensure projects are accurately priced, commercially managed, and delivered profitably.
Key Responsibilities
- Estimating Duties
- Review tender enquiries, drawings, specifications, and contract documentation.
- Produce accurate take-offs and cost estimates for drylining, ceilings, partitions, SFS, plastering, and associated packages.
- Obtain and analyse supplier and subcontractor quotations.
- Prepare detailed tender submissions and cost plans.
- Identify value engineering opportunities and potential commercial risks.
- Support negotiations with clients and main contractors.
- Quantity Surveying Duties
- Manage project costs from contract award through to final account.
- Prepare valuations and applications for payment.
- Monitor variations and change control procedures.
- Produce cost reports and commercial forecasts.
- Negotiate and agree variations and final accounts.
- Support project delivery teams with commercial guidance and cost control.
- Ensure contractual compliance and protect the company's commercial position.
Candidate Requirements
- Proven experience within the drylining, interiors, ceilings, partitioning, SFS, or fit-out sectors.
- Previous experience in both estimating and quantity surveying roles.
- Strong commercial awareness and contractual knowledge.
- Excellent measurement and take-off skills.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and estimating software.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
