Thor Atkinson Steel Fabrications Ltd is expanding its Contract Crushing Division in North Yorkshire and Cumbria and is looking to recruit an experienced

Mobile Plant Engineer to join the team.

  • We have invested significantly in a modern fleet of mobile plant, including:
  • Excavators
  • Loading Shovels
  • Mobile screening equipment
  • Ancillary quarry plant

This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established and growing business with long‑term contracts, modern equipment and an excellent package.

The Role

You will be responsible for maintaining, servicing and repairing our fleet of heavy mobile plant across our contract crushing operations.

Your duties will include

  • Servicing and preventative maintenance of heavy mobile plant.
  • Diagnosing and repairing engine, hydraulic and electrical faults.
  • Carrying out breakdown repairs to minimise downtime.
  • Welding and fabrication repairs where required.
  • Completing inspections and maintenance records.
  • Working closely with site management to ensure maximum plant availability.
  • Maintaining high standards of health and safety

What We're Looking For

The successful applicant will ideally have

  • Experience working on heavy mobile plant.
  • Experience within quarrying, aggregates, recycling or contract crushing (preferred).
  • Excellent knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics and electrical systems.
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
  • The ability to work independently and manage workloads effectively.
  • A full UK driving licence.
