Reuters are looking for a Sales Director to lead the global growth of Reuters NEXT, our live journalism series and leadership summit operating on four continents. In this highly consultative commercial management position, you'll act as a player coach, managing a small team of sellers whilst managing key client relationships and curating and implementing the portfolio's growth strategy.
This role requires a strategic thinker with proven leadership skills and a deep understanding of the media industry. You'll work across critical industry verticals and will use your understanding of events and digital media advertising to ensure the delivery of bespoke and engaging advertising solutions.
About the RoleAs Sales Director, Reuters NEXT, you will:
- Develop and execute comprehensive sales strategies to achieve and exceed revenue targets for Reuters NEXT.
- Manage and mentor a small, high-performing sales team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Oversee the entire sales cycle, from lead generation and qualification to proposal development, negotiation, and closing deals.
- Manage sales budgets, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and optimal return on investment.
- Identify and cultivate new business opportunities, expanding Reuters NEXT's market presence and client base.
- Leverage industry knowledge to identify emerging trends and competitive landscapes, adapting sales strategies accordingly.
- Proactively identify and resolve complex client issues, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and retention.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, product, and editorial teams to align sales efforts with overall business objectives.
- Prepare and present regular sales forecasts, performance reports, and market analyses to senior leadership.

- Strong experience in Budget Management, including forecasting, resource allocation, and expense control.
