Job DescriptionAre you an experienced media sales professional with a track record of winning new business, ready to take the next step with one of the world's most trusted and respected news and media organisations? The Reuters Connect team is looking for an experienced Sales Executive to help develop business for our Marketplace platform Reuters Connect. For us, "archive" means anything older than 48 hours, so this role covers everything from footage of last week's news to video dating back to 1913 (and everything in between). We work with news and media outlets, publishing companies, and high-profile documentary filmmakers and production companies to help them find the material they need to create great content, while also identifying and negotiating the acquisition of third-party archive content to strengthen our offering. This is a great role for an established media sales professional who's interested in current and historical affairs, enjoys hunting down new business, and is ready to bring their commercial experience to one of the world's most trusted news and media brands. The right person may be asked to line manage a small team, coaching them to hit their targets while carrying a strong personal book of business and driving new client wins. Key ResponsibilitiesSell Reuters and Reuters partners' picture and video content to major clients across media, advertising, and entertainment industries, and act as the escalation point for complex or high-value client enquiries. Line manage and coach a team of 2-3 sales executives, setting individual and team targets, reviewing pipeline, and supporting their professional development. Maintain a deep working knowledge of Reuters archive video and picture content Proactively hunt for and develop new business opportunities, including new clients, markets, and revenue streams, taking personal ownership of key growth targets for the region. Build and maintain strong relationships with senior stakeholders at existing and potential clients, understanding their needs to tailor sales approaches, pricing, and recommendations. Manage client expectations and resolve escalated issues as they arise, negotiating commercial terms on higher-value or more complex sales agreements. Stay up to date with new partner content, market trends, and industry developments to provide expert advice to clients and to help inform the team's sales strategy. Report on team and individual sales performance against targets, providing accurate forecasting and pipeline visibility to the Sales Director. QualificationsDemonstrable experience in media sales, ideally at a large media or news organisation, with a strong understanding of industry trends. Experience buying and/or selling archive content (video, images, or footage) within a media organisation. A passion for news and journalism and a keen awareness of current and historical affairs - you could be researching and selling material from five days ago or from 1895. A great eye for detail and a methodical approach to managing projects, with the ability to assess the quality and relevance of information to clients' needs. Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills, with the ability to understand why different parties might be interested in the contents of our archive and structure deals accordingly. A collaborative, hands-on leadership style, and a desire to build your management career with one of the world's most recognisable media brands. Experience using Salesforce or similar CRM systems. QualificationsProven experience buying and/or selling archive content (video, images, or footage) within a media organisation. Experience managing, coaching, or mentoring other sales professionals, or clear readiness to take on line management of a small team (2-3 direct reports). An existing network of contacts among archive and rights holders, production companies, or broadcasters. Additional languages a plus #LI-JB2What's in it For You?
