About Reuters Insights

Reuters Insights is the custom research and market insights division of Reuters Professional. We design and deliver proprietary research programmes for many of the world's leading organisations, turning original survey and interview data into authoritative, evidence-led reports that shape executive decision-making across energy, financial services, insurance, technology and AI, sustainability and supply chain.

As a Market Research & Data Analyst you will own the research and analysis at the heart of our client and internal research programmes. You will help design proprietary studies, manage the data through fieldwork and processing for statistical findings that matter, and translate complex results into clear narratives for clients to activate across the Reuters ecosystem. This is a hands-on analytical role for someone who is as comfortable working with surveys, including the technical aspects of coding surveys as well as post-fieldwork analysis. You will work closely with our research, custom content and commercial teams, and with senior client stakeholders, across several concurrent research projects.

About the Role

  • Research design: Work with the editorial and commercial teams to scope proprietary research programmes, defining the research questions, designing survey instruments and discussion guides, and determining the right quantitative and qualitative methods to answer the client's brief.
  • Data collection and management: Oversee fieldwork, manage sampling and quotas, and take responsibility for the integrity of the data from collection through to a clean, analysis-ready dataset.
  • Analysis: Conduct the full analysis, requiring cross-tabulation, significance testing, segmentation and modelling, and weighting if necessary, identifying the findings that carry genuine value and commercial weight. Build the summary tables, databooks and data visualizations that feed our reports.
  • Storytelling with data: Translate analytical output into a clear narrative and a set of figures, working alongside writers and designers so the data is represented accurately and compellingly in the finished report.
  • Client engagement: Work directly with client stakeholders to design research programmes, interpret findings, explain methodology and answer questions on the data, providing written guidance where it helps clients use the research effectively.
  • Standards and integrity: Uphold Reuters' standards for accuracy, sourcing and independence in every piece of analysis, with no tolerance for unsupported claims.

About You

  • Demonstrable experience designing and delivering primary quantitative research, ideally proprietary studies conducted for external clients or stakeholders.
  • Strong command of survey data analysis: weighting, crosstabs, significance testing, segmentation, regression and related techniques.
  • Hands-on experience analysing data in a statistical environment. Direct R experience is desirable, however we will also consider strong candidates from other tools such as SPSS, Q, Stata, Python or equivalent. The ability to script, automate and reproduce your analysis matters more to us than the specific package on your CV.
  • Sound research design instincts, including questionnaire writing, sampling, fieldwork management and an eye for the data quality issues that undermine findings.
  • The ability to interpret results and to explain what a number means, what it does not mean, and why it matters to a senior reader.
  • Demonstrable experience in applying AI responsibly across market research studies and programmes.
  • Clear written and verbal communication, and the confidence to present and defend findings to senior internal and client stakeholders.
  • The ability to manage several concurrent projects to deadline without compromising on rigour.
