This hybrid position will be based in London. Want to use your consultative sales skills to develop partnerships on behalf of one of the leading reinsurance publications? This might be the perfect role for you. The Insurer – part of Reuters – is a leading provider of insights and analysis for the global reinsurance industry. We specialize in delivering high‑value content to our clients through premium subscriptions. Our clients include top‑tier global insurance companies who rely on our expertise to stay ahead in the market.
We’re seeking an experienced Business Development Executive to drive new and repeat business across our Advertising, Partnership and Subscription revenue streams. You’ll play a key role as part of Reuters Professional and will grow The Insurer’s client base and enhance our product offerings in close collaboration with, and reporting into, our Commercial Director. You’ll be focused on driving The Insurer’s growth plan and will play a key part in setting long and medium‑term strategies, ensuring that we’re meeting our commercial targets. This role would suit an entrepreneurial seller that enjoys working consultatively with new and existing clients in a trust‑led industry. You’ll work closely with marketing and other commercial units within Reuters and will generate sales to help continue to develop this fast‑growing business unit. This is a team‑oriented group that promotes innovative thought and idea sharing, and would suit a seller that enjoys working collaboratively.
About The Role
- Identify and secure new accounts within the global insurance industry and related sectors.
- Foster and maintain strong relationships with clients across the industry, understanding their needs and delivering tailored content solutions.
- Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve The Insurer’s revenue targets.
- Collaborate with The Insurer’s subscription sales team, as well as other strategic B2B units within Reuters.
- Collaborate with clients and colleagues across Reuters Professional to enhance The Insurer’s services and explore new revenue opportunities.
- Stay updated on industry trends and competitor activities to identify opportunities for growth.
- Engage with stakeholders across the insurance value chain to promote our offerings.
- Collaborate with the Commercial Director to refine commercial packages and pricing strategies.
- Accurately forecast revenue, and unit targets; consistently update all CRM systems and report on market and competitor activities.
- Build and maintain strategic account plans for key target customers.
About You
- Demonstrable experience in sales and business development within the media and publishing industry.
- An interest in and understanding of the insurance value chain and industry ecosystem.
- A consultative approach to sales with excellent negotiation skills and the ability to take a medium‑to‑long term strategic approach to key client accounts.
- Demonstrated ability to meet and exceed revenue targets.
- Ability to understand client needs and deliver high levels of customer engagement and satisfaction.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Experience of leading and driving opportunities from conception to close, working collaboratively with other business units to achieve successful results.
- Experience developing and reporting on a sales pipeline.
