Exceptional role for a Competition Associate to join one of the largest Competition Teams in Europe, based in their offices in the city of London.

The EU/Competition team at this major international law firm handles a broad range of high-quality work including UK, EU and international merger control, competition investigations, competition litigation, behavioural advice and a wide range of regulatory and trade work. The team consists of 5 partners and a team of 12 other fee-earners based in London and Edinburgh and is part of a wider worldwide Competition Group.

Associates are encouraged to take on high levels of responsibility and client contact from day one. Your role will include business development activities within the team and across the firm’s sector groups. The team also undertakes a significant amount of cross-border work, cooperating on a daily basis and will include some travel.

Candidate Requirements:

  • The team is currently expanding and is looking for a motivated, ambitious Associate with circa 3-6 years PQE to be based in their London office.
  • The firm is looking for a candidate with a passion for competition and regulatory law, particularly with an interest in working closely with the firm’s highly rated Technology, Media, Life Sciences, Energy, Consumer Products/Retail and/or Financial Services teams.
  • Solid background and experience in UK and EU competition law, and a willingness to learn public procurement, state aid and trade law.
  • Strong commercial acumen and the ability to provide clients with focused strategic advice.
