Civil Litigation & Contentious Private Client SolicitorEdinburgh/ Hybrid Working |10 years’ + PQE | Competitive Salary & BenefitsThomson Legal is recruiting on behalf of an established Edinburgh legal practice seeking a solicitor to join its growing Court team.This opportunity will suit a lawyer with general civil litigation experience who enjoys managing their own caseload and building strong client relationships. Experience in contentious private client matters would be welcomed, although it is not essential.The role offers scope to develop your expertise in civil litigation and contentious private client work within a supportive team, with opportunities for progression as the practice expands.The Role:You will manage a varied caseload, including civil disputes and contentious matters involving estates, succession and family relationships. Your responsibilities will include:Providing clear, practical legal advice and guiding clients through the litigation process.Conducting court actions and undertaking court appearances.Working closely with clients, counsel, other solicitors and professional advisers.Progressing matters efficiently and proactively, with appropriate independence.Contributing to the development of the firm’s litigation and contentious private client practice.Candidate Requirements:You will be a Scottish-qualified solicitor, ideally with up to 10 years’ PQE, with experience in civil litigation and a strong working knowledge of relevant Scottish law.You should be confident managing your own files, comfortable in a client-facing role and able to communicate sensitively when dealing with difficult personal circumstances.
