Leading national firm with one of the largest real estate teams in the UK has an exciting new role in their Future Energy team- this role will be based in Glasgow with hybrid-working also available.
Role Profile:
As one of the UK\’s largest real estate groups, the teamact across the industry for corporate occupiers, developers, banks, investors and public bodies. The team areactive in the future energy market, advising on over 30% of all UK solar renewables projects and working on some of the UK\’s major energy infrastructure projects. The firm are looking to hire an Associate to join their growing Future Energy team which will involve providing real estate advice to clean energy development projects. This is a niche team with genuine career progression also on offer.
This role would be agreat platform for a junior lawyer to get involved in all aspects of a vast array of transactions and gain significant experience with the benefit of the support available from a number of senior team members.Day to day you can expect to be involved with:
- Dealing with drafting option agreements and leases on a wide range of clean energy projects (including wind, solar, battery storage, electric vehicles and hydro);
- Undertaking due diligence on these projects to include a review of title, enquiries and searches as well as the preparation of title reports and Certificates of Title;
- Acting in relation to the financing of clean energy projects and large-scale acquisitions/disposals which will involve working with individuals in our corporate, banking, construction, planning and regulatory disciplines;
- To maintain and improve relations with existing clients.
Candidate Requirements:
- Experience as a qualified Real Estate lawyer-Exposure to Clean/ Future energy matters would be highly desirable but not essential;
- A forward thinker, with excellent analytical, communication and organisational skills, you will be self-motivated with the ability to manage workloads and deadlines
- Commercially awarewith enthusiasm for business development, and an appetite for keeping up-to-date with the latest developments in your practice area and sector focus;
- An understanding of your clientβs business needs, and act in the best interest of the firm and the client;
- Ambitious and enthusiastic team player, able to support senior fee earners and contribute to our collaborative culture;
- A desire to learn and develop legal skills in the area of commercial property/ renewable energy.
