Leading global bio science company is looking to hire an additional Contracts Specialist to join their highly successful in-house team. Hybrid-working in Scotland is an option along with remote-working arrangements.
Role Overview: As a Contracts Specialist, you will focus on supporting commercial contracting activities, including conducting contract reviews, drafting contracts and taking part in negotiations. You may also be required to provide ad-hoc advice on related legal matters.
Role Profile:
- Review, draft and negotiate a range of commercial agreements.
- Support and, where appropriate, lead negotiations with third parties on these agreements.
- Take an active role in contract template standardisation, process improvement and contract automation strategy by participating in and/or leading certain relevant projects.
- Interpretation of agreements in effect or in development.
- Educate and train employees on their role in contract negotiations and their obligations under the terms of various contracts and under applicable legal requirements.
- Work with other members of the Global Legal team including Division Counsel as needed.
Candidate Requirements:
- Holds a law degree in a UK jurisdiction or has at least three years’ experience in a contracts-focussed role.
- A good working knowledge of contract law.
- Relevant experience in contract negotiation/drafting.
- Strong commercial awareness and business sense, with ability to navigate the various issues surrounding contracts, technology and corporate structure.
- Able to fully engage with and influence business partners.
- Fluency in English essential.
- Able to deal effectively and efficiently with a high-volume workload.
