Base pay range

We are working with a global professional services firm to appoint a new Head of IT Infrastructure and Ops, reporting into the Global Head of IT. This role will manage a team of c.20 through 4 direct reports. You will also work closely with the other 5 members of the tech leadership team to contribute to overall strategy and direction. There are a number of interesting programmes of work including AI initiatives and a potential new ground up infra project. The firm has a cloud first strategy and has made great headway in recent years. Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate strong leadership experience, as well as ‘upward’ stakeholder management, ideally you have operated at Cxx / board level. Responsibilities and teams include:

Candidates should be able to evidence their ability to cover and develop a portfolio of this breadth, so experience from mid‑size firms (rather than large corporates +5000 people) where functions such as IT Ops Management, system deployment, third‑party management and tech governance are aligned, would be advantageous.

You must be able to demonstrate a detailed understanding of infrastructure and networks, whilst not hands on, you will be able to work with the team to understand issues and gain leadership buy‑in – this role is not a big strategy / Mgmt role, albeit it has elements of both.

We are not expecting someone to come from an engineering background but an understanding and interest of modern AI / Agentic tools would be great. Fortnightly visits to a second, southern UK office location will be required.
