Our services include but are not limited to: terrestrial ecology, freshwater ecology, hydrology, marine laboratory, arboricultural services, geographic information systems (GIS) and mapping, environmental impact assessments.

The position involves driving your team's financial success by preparing compelling tenders, efficiently managing projects, and fostering strong relationships with clients. Your contributions will support the company's vision and values by delivering high-quality technical work within specified timelines and consistently upholding the company's standards of excellence.

Some of the duties include:

  • Overseeing and guiding a small team of Ecological Consultants and Assistant Ecologists.
  • Leading and managing large, complex projects, ensuring seamless execution from start to finish.
  • Handling technically challenging tasks, including EPSL applications, EcIA chapters, and habitat regulation assessments.
  • Delivering high-quality reports and outputs for clients, consistently meeting or exceeding project deadlines and budget constraints.
  • Cultivating and maintaining strong relationships with clients, ensuring continued trust and satisfaction.
  • Documenting relevant professional experience and leveraging it to advance toward obtaining protected species licenses.
  • Taking ownership for the quality of survey work by providing leadership and direction to the field team.
  • Ensuring clear and effective communication by keeping project managers and team leads informed of all critical project developments.
  • Maintaining active membership with CIEEM.

Salary: from £34,000 per annum, dependent on skillset.

Requirements include being an experienced Ecologist with an ecological or related subject degree, being technically competent with an in-depth knowledge of ecology, legislation and survey techniques, and holding protected species licences. A clean, valid UK driving licence and access to a car insured for business use are also required. Applicants with ornithological skills, botany skills or a bat mitigation licence are especially encouraged to apply, though these are not essential. All applicants must be based in the UK with the Right to Work in the UK.
