Thomson Cooper is an independent firm of Accountants and Business Advisors operating across Central Scotland with offices in Edinburgh and Dunfermline. We have grown from our small beginnings to now having 8 partners and over 100 staff. In recent years our Audit portfolio has grown significantly and is now a large and diverse portfolio of commercial and third sector entities in various sectors.

The position will suit an individual with 12 â 18 monthsâ experience working within audit and who has a keen interest in that area. You will work within our audit team across a variety of client and industry sectors including owner managed businesses and not-for-profit clients. Working under the supervision of our audit seniors and managers, you must have the necessary skill set to develop and maintain relationships with both clients and colleagues.
- Drafting planning and completion documents for senior review
- Undertaking substantive testing and analytical review
- Attending stock counts
- Liaising with audit seniors ensuring clear lines of communication
- Ability to work to deadlines
- Working between client premises and our offices
- Working as part of a team
- Ad hoc tasks for the audit team
- Preparation of Statutory Accounts from client data (experience preferred but not essential)
At least 12 â 18 monthsâ experience of working within a busy audit team. Strong work ethic with commitment to deliver first class service. Ability to work on own initiative. Strong time management and organisational skills. Good technical knowledge and IT skills. Strong communication skills both oral and written. Can demonstrate a track record of success working within teams.
