The role... As a Litigation Assistant, you play a crucial role in managing a caseload of pre-litigated cases, primarily focused on personal injury claims for our union members. These cases encompass a variety of scenarios, including road traffic accidents, employers' liability, and public liability claims.
A very varied role, the Litigation Assistants carry out a range of tasks, including:
- Initial assessment on merits when the case exits the portal
- Obtaining evidence in support of liability including from witnesses and pre-action disclosure
- Obtaining medical evidence where appropriate
- Instructing non-medical experts where appropriate
- Decisions on disclosure
- Assessing value of claim
- Attending on clients, witnesses, experts, union clients, third parties and defendants
Who we are looking for... We are keen to hear from enthusiastic individuals, including recent graduates with a keen interest in personal injury law. If you are currently studying towards your SQE or an equivalent qualification, we are willing to train the right candidates. We are looking for excellent communicators with an outstanding client-focused approach with the ability to work efficiently, accurately, and meet deadlines. Knowledge of personal injury law and familiarity with Pre-Action Protocols is desirable.
