Business Analyst
Application Deadline: 7 September 2026
Department: IT
Employment Type: Full Time
Location: Leeds
Compensation: £43,949 - £47,257 / year
Description
Are you an experienced Business Analyst who enjoys turning complex processes into simple, efficient ways of working? We’re looking for a Business Analyst to join our IT Department, working closely with legal and support teams across the firm to design, develop and maintain effective business processes.
In this role, you’ll partner with colleagues in areas such as Personal Injury, Employment Rights, Finance and HR to understand how they work today, identify opportunities to improve client experience and reduce cost, and help translate those needs into practical, well‑designed solutions. You’ll play a key part in ensuring our systems and processes support a modern, data‑driven law firm.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with solid business analysis experience who wants to work on meaningful projects that directly impact how we deliver services to our clients and colleagues.
More about the role...
As a Business Analyst in our IT Department, you will work closely with stakeholders to understand business needs, identify opportunities for improvement and define clear, prioritised requirements. You will facilitate workshops and meetings, analyse and document current and future business processes using recognised standards and modelling techniques, and identify practical solutions that improve efficiency, reduce cost and enhance the client experience.
You will work closely with delivery teams and external suppliers to ensure solutions meet agreed requirements, maintaining traceability throughout the delivery process and managing changes where required. You will also plan and support system and user acceptance testing, preparing test scenarios, coordinating business involvement and recording outcomes.
A key part of your role will be supporting the implementation of business and technology change, including stakeholder communication, process documentation, training needs and transition into business use. You will build effective relationships across legal, finance and support services, keeping the Business Analysis and Process Manager informed of progress, risks, issues and decisions, while maintaining accurate records in line with the firm’s change management and governance processes.
More about you...
You’ll thrive in this role if you have strong business analysis skills and experience of modelling business processes, together with good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications. You should be proficient in LUCID and other process‑modelling tools and comfortable using recognised process‑modelling techniques. Experience of documenting test plans and performing software testing is important, as is a customer‑focused mindset with effective listening and interpersonal skills.
You’ll also bring strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical or process detail clearly to different audiences, along with a proactive approach and the ability to work calmly in a pressured environment. It would also be great (though not essential) if you have a basic knowledge of SQL to support interrogation of data during testing and problem analysis, and an understanding of the case lifecycle for personal injury and employment rights claims.
You will have a minimum of 3 years’ experience working as a Business Analyst in a commercial environment.
Benefits
You’ll have access to our comprehensive benefits package, which includes:
- Contributory pension scheme
- £4,000 Car allowance
- Permanent health insurance
- Healthcare Cash Plan (Medicash)
- Life assurance
- 25 days’ annual leave (in addition to bank holidays)
- Additional leave over Christmas
- Employee Assistance Programme
- Enhanced maternity and paternity pay
- Cycle to work scheme
- Subsidised sports and social club
- Annual travel and parking loans
- Financial assistance for professional development
If you’re a proactive Business Analyst who enjoys working with stakeholders across a business and wants to help shape how a leading law firm works, we’d love to hear from you.
