Thompsons Scotland LLP is one of Scotland's largest and most successful personal injury law firms. We are looking for a dependable, service-focused person to join our Legal Enquiries Team and build a lasting career in client contact and legal support. You do not need a law degree: what matters most is your ability to listen, communicate clearly, follow procedures and support people who may be contacting us at a difficult time.

Our Legal Enquiries Team is the first point of contact for many new and existing clients. This is a busy, structured client-service role with regular call handling, accurate data entry and follow-up work. It is well suited to someone who enjoys being part of an established team, takes pride in consistent service and wants to develop within the department over the longer term. Although you will gain knowledge of our legal services, this role is not designed as a short-term route to a traineeship or professional legal qualification.

What You Will Do

  • Handle inbound and outbound calls, emails and other enquiries from new and existing clients with empathy, confidence and professionalism.
  • Ask clear questions, listen carefully and record accurate information on our case management system.
  • Explain our services and next steps clearly, directing enquiries to the right legal team where appropriate.
  • Work consistently within procedures, service standards and confidentiality requirements.
  • Manage follow-up tasks and keep records complete, accurate and up to date.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain cover across the shift rota and respond to changing demand.

What We Are Looking For

  • A genuine interest in client service and in building a stable career within a call-handling and administrative team.
  • Clear spoken and written communication, with the ability to listen and explain information in plain language.
  • Reliability and flexibility to work the full range of published rota hours, including later shifts.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow procedures while managing several tasks.
  • Confidence using case management, Microsoft Office and learning new software.
  • Sound judgement when handling confidential and sensitive information.
  • Call-centre, customer-service, contact-centre or professional-services experience is necessary although full training will be provided.

The list of duties shown above is not exhaustive and is intended to give a guide.

Hours and Shift Commitment

This is a permanent, 34.5-hour-per-week role, Monday to Friday. The team operates a rotating shift rota to maintain client cover, so applicants must be able to work across the full operating window rather than a fixed daily pattern. Shifts will fall between 8.45am and 7pm, Monday to Thursday, and between 8.45am and 5.30pm on Fridays. Rota patterns are set by the firm and communicated in advance. We ask candidates to consider carefully whether they can commit reliably to these hours before applying.

Benefits:

  • Training & Development Opportunities
  • Excellent Pension
  • Death in Service Cover
  • Flexi-time
  • Social & Charitable experiences

If you enjoy helping people, working as part of a rota-based team and becoming a trusted, experienced member of a busy department, we would be pleased to hear from you.

Closing date: 28th August 2026. We have a number of available positions and may move to interview/close applications early depending on interest, so early application is encouraged.
