Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Negligence Lawyer to join our established and growing London team. This is a fantastic chance to develop your career within one of the UK's leading claimant firms, working in a team that is committed to securing justice for our clients and supporting each other to deliver exceptional results. A flexible hybrid working model is available.

What the role involves...

Our Clinical Negligence team is known for its client-centred approach and its expertise across a broad spectrum of multi-track cases. You will manage your own caseload from initial instruction through to resolution, supported by experienced colleagues including specialist paralegals.

The work includes a wide variety of clinical negligence matters, from misdiagnosis and delayed treatment to complex, high-value cases involving brain, spinal and birth injuries requiring extensive rehabilitation packages.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Running a complex case holding, including catastrophic injuries, independently (but with supervision appropriate to the seniority of the role)
  • Evidence gathering, instructing experts, and litigating to conclusion
  • Representing both private clients and trade union members
  • Risk assessment of cases, supervision of others and strategic litigation case planning
  • Leading in conferences, JSM's and Mediations with counsel and medical experts
  • Litigating to Trial
  • Securing interim payments voluntarily or by application, and working collaboratively with MDT's to maximise rehabilitation outcomes
  • Supervising and mentoring others
  • Managing profit costs forecasting and working closely with our in-house costs team on costs recovery

Who we are looking for...

We welcome applications from experienced clinical negligence solicitors or legal executives with litigation authority who can demonstrate in depth technical knowledge of clinical negligence law and the civil litigation process.

Essential attributes include:

  • Excellent communication and client care skills
  • The ability to empathise with vulnerable clients and ability to evidence supporting them through challenging circumstances
  • Proven track record of successfully litigating claims to conclusion
  • A pragmatic understanding of case management systems
  • Experience of interacting with trade union clients, empathy groups and referrers of high quality work
  • Knowledge and experience of a wide range of clinical negligence matters
  • Confidence in constructing and articulating clear, persuasive legal arguments
  • A commercial understanding and focus
  • A collaborative approach and willingness to contribute to marketing and business development activity

What we offer you...

We offer more than just a job; we offer growth. Lawyers with less experience will be offered an opportunity to co-work complex cases with senior lawyers. All our lawyers have access to exceptional training opportunities and progression pathways, this role provides the perfect environment for you to thrive and have your expertise and dedication recognised.
