We are looking for a Senior or Associate Solicitor with at least three years' PQE to join our Road Traffic Accident Team in Glasgow. About the Role

As a Senior/Associate Solicitor and Pod Supervisor within our Road Traffic Accident Team, you will combine fee-earning responsibilities with the day-to-day supervision and development of colleagues within your pod.

  • Manage a varied caseload of Road Traffic Accident claims, including complex and litigated matters, progressing cases efficiently and strategically from instruction through to settlement or litigation.
  • Handle all aspects of case preparation and litigation, including liability investigations, evidence gathering, drafting legal documents, instructing and liaising with medical and other experts, negotiation and settlement.
  • Take an active role in the team’s litigation work, including attending court where required and being willing and confident to develop further court experience in a team with a high volume of litigated cases.
  • Provide effective supervision, support and guidance to Paralegals, Trainee Solicitors and junior members of the team by helping them develop their technical knowledge, confidence and case-handling skills.
  • Mentor colleagues through regular feedback, training and knowledge-sharing, creating an environment where people can develop and perform at their best.
  • Monitor the performance and progression of work within your pod, ensuring cases are progressed proactively and to the required quality and service standards.
  • Take ownership of your individual and pod performance, working towards and achieving agreed financial and operational KPI targets.
  • Maximise cost recovery and commercial performance while maintaining excellent standards of client care and achieving strong outcomes for clients.
  • Identify issues, risks and opportunities across your caseload and pod, taking a proactive approach to resolving challenges.

What We Are Looking For

  • Qualified Solicitor: A qualified Solicitor with at least three years' post-qualified experience. The level of appointment as Senior Solicitor or Associate Solicitor will depend on your experience.
  • Road Traffic Accident Experience: A strong background in handling Road Traffic Accident claims is essential. You should be confident managing your own caseload and dealing with more complex matters.
  • Leadership Potential: You should enjoy supporting and developing others and be comfortable providing guidance, mentoring and constructive feedback to Paralegals, Trainee Solicitors and junior members of the team. Previous supervisory experience is not essential however, you should be able to demonstrate strong leadership qualities, sound judgement and a genuine interest in helping others develop and succeed.
  • Commercial Awareness: You will understand the importance of financial performance and be comfortable working towards individual and team KPI targets.
  • Strong Legal Skills: You will bring excellent negotiation, litigation, analytical and organisational skills, with the confidence to make sound decisions and manage competing priorities.
  • Client Focus: You will be committed to delivering an excellent client experience, communicating clearly and progressing cases proactively.
  • Collaborative Approach: You will enjoy being part of a team, sharing knowledge and building strong relationships with colleagues and external professionals.
  • Litigation & Court Experience: You will be comfortable working in a litigation-focused environment and willing to attend court as required. Extensive court experience is not essential however, you should be keen to build your confidence and experience in this area and embrace opportunities to develop your court and advocacy skills.
